Residential Childcare
Residential Childcare
Working in residential childcare is more than a role — it's a responsibility to provide safety, stability, and meaningful support to children and young people who need it most. The NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) is the nationally recognised qualification for practitioners in children's homes, designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and competence required to deliver high-quality, compliant care.
At Destination to Development (D2D), we believe this qualification should do more than meet standards — it should strengthen confidence, deepen understanding, and transform day-to-day practice.
This programme covers safeguarding and child protection, child and young person development, trauma-informed approaches, therapeutic practice, professional boundaries, and regulatory expectations. Assessment is workplace-based, ensuring learning is applied directly within your setting and embedded into real practice.
What makes D2D different is how we deliver. We understand the realities of residential childcare — inspection pressures, staffing challenges, time constraints — so our programmes are structured, supportive, and practical. With flexible online, face-to-face, and blended delivery options, personalised tutor guidance, and carefully designed learner resources, we ensure learners feel supported while maintaining clear progress milestones.
We don't just help practitioners achieve a qualification. We develop reflective, confident professionals who understand their impact and contribute to stronger teams and better outcomes for children and young people.
With D2D, training is not just about certification — it's about development with purpose.
